My Life After The Military

Life since leaving the military has not been easy. There are so many experiences that I have had and it will take a while to write it all.

I will tell you one thing though. I have learned that most people don't even care that I served our country in the U. S. Army. What a waste of time for me to learn later that all that I did and sacrificed to serve in the military was for nothing.

Female veterans have a rough time getting proper medical care at the Veteran's hospitals because many of the Veteran's hospitals are geared towards male medical care and that is not fair. I just know because I fought and fought with the Veteran's hospital system for years.

Well, I will type more later. Bye.

I served March 1974 - March 1977 and have found that people do appreciate my service. I'm sorry that you're having such a rough time of it. Things will get better.

I've been going to the VAMC for over 20 years and have always gotten the best care. The fact I am a women has never played a part in the care I get. VA's are trying to serve female vets. Contact the patient advocate if you feel you're not getting what you deserve. Do other female veterans feel they are not getting the service they deserve? I go to the Grand Junction CO VAMC and they saved my life. The DAV here was quite helpful in helping me get an increase in my disability. And my only gripe with the VA is that they decreased my pain meds. Other then that the care I get is great. And I started going to the VAMC when there were even fewer women going. Many of my "female medical care" was outsource to civilian doctors.
